When widowed romance author, Mia, meets handsome surfy, Lucas, at a book launch, the last thing she expects is to be asked out on a date. Especially by a guy who's clearly in his twenties. Mia's practically forty and raising two daughters. There's also the fact that she's not ready to introduce a new man into their lives.

With a little push from her sister, Halley, Mia agrees to meet Lucas for a coffee. She knows it can't possibly lead anywhere, given the age difference, but as Halley tells her, it's a good way to get back out there, an in between, before she finds love again.
