RRP  $32.34 $30.90
John MacLean was born in 1949, eldest of 10 children, in the Irish neighborhood of Woodside, New York City, and graduated from Fordham, Oxford, and the University of South Carolina Law School. As his poems portray, he is a retired high school English teacher, who has also been a merchant seaman, construction worker, mill hand, church sacristan, conscientious objector, assistant district attorney and inveterate wanderer. It is as husband and father, however, that he has found his most important vocation, and, in a wide, troubled world, his way home. His book on teaching classic literature, If You Teach It, They Will Read is published by Rowman and Littlefield. He and his wife, a sign language interpreter and small business owner, live in Croton, New York, where they have raised four daughters.
