The story is based on a mothers devotion to the Catholic Religion. My mother grow up in a section of Philadelphia called Swampoodle. The section Swampoodle is a part of North Philadelphia. The Parish my mother belonged to was called Saint Columbus Parish. My mother also went to the grade school at Saint Columbus parish in Philadelphia. The Parish was consolidated many other churches in the Philadelphia Area . The Saint Martin de Porres Parish was establish in July 1, 1993. My mother has four sisters and one brother. My mother Charlotte McElwee had a sister name Dorothy McElwee that joined the Poor Clares of the Franciscan Monastery . My mother's sister, Dorothy McElwee entered the Monastery on December 8, 1950. When she entered the Monastery, my aunt changed her name to Sister Mary Immaculate . My mother got married on June 29, 1957 . After she got married she had seven daughters. Charlotte has many grandchildren. Charlotte raised her children with her husband John Devers in the town of Roslyn, Pennsylvania. When Charlotte and John retired, they moved to Brigantine, New Jersey.
