Enid Blyton

Enid Blyton is one of the best-loved children’s authors with over 700 titles published. Aged 27, Enid married Hugh Pollock and moved to London. They had two children, and soon afterwards Enid wrote her first novel, The Adventures of the Wishing-Chair.

Throughout the 40s and 50s, Enid wrote books at a colossal pace: adventure stories, mysteries, magical stories, farming stories, stories for younger children, and best-selling series like Malory Towers and Amelia Jane.

She is the author of The Famous Five series, The Secret Seven series, The Wishing Chair series, Malory Towers, St Clare's, The Magic Faraway Tree series, Amelia Jane stories and many more! Enid died in 1963. Her stories remain timeless classics, adored throughout the world.

Jeanne Willis

Jeanne Willis was born in St Albans, Herts, in 1959. As a young girl she sought adventures though writing comic strips and books.

After completing a copywriting course at Watford Art College she went on to work in advertising. Today, Jeanne is an internationally renowned, full-time writer and has published over a hundred books ranging from picture books including The Bog Baby and Who's in the Loo?, to YA, poetry and fiction.

She has won several awards, including the Children's Book Award, the Silver Smarties Prize and has also been shortlisted for the Whitbread Award.

Mark Beech

Mark Beech has been a freelance illustrator for the last ten years, and nowadays works a great deal in the world of children’s publishing.

From picture books for early readers, to education and fiction books for older readers, he has even made a picture book for the ipad, which allows him to animate illustrations.

He also designs greeting cards, and has even been known to work in the world of advertising from time to time.

We love Enid Blyton's writing especially the Faraway Tree.

This story however has not been written by Enid Blyton but by Jeanne Willis. It is not clear in the information about the book that it is in fact written by Jeanne Willis - her name is certainly not on the front cover - however she does get a mention in the About the author section after Enid Blyton. This story is nowhere near the quality of writing that Enid Blyton produces.
