Ian Beck

Ian Beck is an illustrator and author living in London. He has written and illustrated numerous titles for children including The Teddy Robber, Tom Trueheart, Pastworld and The Jungle Books. He may be best known for illustrating the album cover for Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

Debi Gliori

Debi Gliori lives in Scotland. Debi is well known for both her picture books and her novels for children and has been shortlisted for all the major prizes, including the Kate Greenaway Award (twice) and the Scottish Arts Council Award.

Debi was the Shetland Islands' first Children's Writer-in-Residence. She has written and illustrated No Matter What, The Trouble With Dragons, Stormy Weather, The Scariest Thing of All, What's the Time, Mr Wolf?,

Dragon Loves Penguin and, most recently, Alfie in the Bath and Alfie in the Garden as well as the popular Pure Dead fiction series for older readers.

Joyce Dunbar

Joyce Dunbar has published more than 80 books. Translated into 20 languages, she is best known for her lively and quirky picture books stories, with their wide emotional range.

She has, as Philippa Pearce once said in a review, 'a passionate authenticity of imagination.' She revels in the joy of language, the playfulness of words, and in seeing her work fabulously brought to life by world class illustrators.

She has written many stories for radio and television and contributed to several anthologies.

Anthony Browne

Anthony Browne is one of the most celebrated author-illustrators working today.

He was Children's Laureate from 2009 to 2011 and has won multiple awards, including the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal twice, the Kurt Maschler Award three times and the much coveted Hans Christian Andersen Award.

His outstanding work is loved and admired all around the world. He lives in Canterbury.

Quentin Blake

Quentin Blake was born in Sidcup on the outskirts of London in 1932. He had his first drawing published in the magazine Punch exactly sixty years ago, and he has been drawing ever since. He took a degree in English Literature at Cambridge before going on to life classes at Chelsea School of Art.

He taught at the Royal College of Art for twenty years and for several years was head of the Illustration Department. He has written and illustrated books of his own, and has collaborated with writers such as Michael Rosen, Russell Hoban and John Yeoman. He is probably best known for his having illustrated all the books for children by Roald Dahl.

He has also illustrated classic works such as A Christmas Carol, Don Quixote, and Candide.He has also produced many pictures for hospitals and other public spaces. In 2013 he was knighted for his services to illustrators, and in 2014 appointed a Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur. He lives in London and Hastings.
