A secret wife. A secret life. A killer who knows. The new bestseller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until its shocking climax, by multi-million-copy selling author Michael Robotham.

William and Mary have been married sixty years. William is a celebrated surgeon, Mary a devoted wife. Both are strong believers in right and wrong.

William and Olivia have been together twenty years. Olivia was once a tennis star, but her career has long since faded.

Clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin knows only one of these stories to be true. But when he is called to his father's hospital bed after a brutal attack, everything he once knew is turned upside down. Is it possible his father, the upstanding citizen, was leading a double life?

And who is the strange woman crying at William's bedside, covered in his blood - a friend, a mistress, a fantasist or a killer?

A confronting psychological thriller from one of the greatest crime writers of today, Michael Robotham, the bestselling author of The Secrets She Keeps.

Reviewed by Olivia at Angus & Robertson:

Australia is home to many incredible crime writers, but there are none who write psychological thrillers quite like Michael Robotham does. The Other Wife is his latest masterpiece and the ninth book to feature clinical psychologist Joe O’Loughlin. In it he faces his toughest challenge yet in a case that hits way too close to home, and it's a hell of a read.

I was taken in immediately by that tantalising premise (a mysterious woman shows up at Joe’s father’s deathbed, claiming to be his wife) and this book never drops the ball, delivering twist after exhilarating twist. It’s a book that will hold you up on your lunch break or make you stay up far too late at night because you simply couldn’t put it down - Robotham really is just that good.

Not up to his normal standard and very disappointing.

I‘ve read other books by this author; some featuring predominantly Prof Joe O’Loughlin and some his mate detective Vincent Ruiz. The latter are OK, the former less so. There are all sorts of characters popping up from nowhere throughout the book supporting a plot which seems to go nowhere. While O’Loughlin seems to be a popular character, to me he’s a self-opinionated smart-arse. I’ll be looking elsewhere in the future.
