Joanne Oppenheim

Joanne Oppenheim is the author of more than fifty books for and about children, many of which have received awards and critical acclaim.

She is the mother of three grown children and six grandchildren, and lives in New York. This was Joanne's second project for Barefoot Books, following The Miracle of the First Poinsettia.

Miriam Latimer

Miriam Latimer studied illustration at the University of the West of England, gaining a first class honors degree in 2003. Miriam now lives in St. Albans, England. She says that her most elaborate illustrations are inspired by "the smallest of things - something someone said, or a sweet wrapper, or a road sign!"

Miriam is the author and illustrator of many other beloved Barefoot books, including Emily's Tiger, Shrinking Sam, and the popular Ruby series (Ruby's Baby Brother, Ruby's School Walk, and Ruby's Sleepover), along with the inaugural Barefoot Books Build-a-Story Cards deck, Magical Castle.
