Apart from the scrutinized knowledge of Richard Dawkins in his field, what makes this book rare is how he was able to express and explain seemingly effortless to his audience such a complex matter; which is now one of the most fundamental concepts of evolution in its bare form.

A must read for anyone curious of human behavior.

I read this book for the first time about 15 years ago. It is an absolutely brilliant explanation of how the very simple idea that the existence of a chemical which is able to create copies of itself can lead to the amazing range of life that exists on our planet today.

Everything I have read by Richard Dawkins has been exceptional, including Blind Watchmaker and River out of Eden.

Highly recommended.
