The new novel from Fiona McIntosh tells of a solider, Jones who has lost his memory during World War I and a beautiful talented Seamstress, Eden Valentine (The Tailors Daughter). After staying in hospital, waiting for someone to claim him, Jones decides to start a new life. Eden takes in the lost solider to help him find his way and the pair fall madly in love. On a trip to London, Tom (Jones) falls and his memories return forgetting his life with Eden and you wonder will they find each other again? McIntosh creates an enchanting romance between Tom and Eden building strong characters that you individually like. She also creates beautiful visualisations of the 1920s London, beautiful countryside and the fashion creations of Eden. Fiona McIntosh is said to research her books quite thoroughly and this definitely comes through here. This is the perfect summer reading escape!
I look forward to reading all this authors new releases.
This one was a beautiful read from start to finish.
Fiona McIntoshs The Tailors Girl was an enjoyable, romantic tale, set just post World War 1. The characters are likeable and the story moves along well. It was interesting to gain some insight to the fashion industry of the day and also but to a lesser degree, the conditions surrounding the allied troops during and after the war. Now to catch up on some sleep!
