Ulay's Eyes: An Insider's History of Conceptual Art provides a unique insight into one of the most notorious and compeex forms of art over the past two centuries. The insider component comes from one of the co-authors, among the most famous conceptual artists of all, Ulay. Along with Joseph Beuys and Marina Abramovic (Ulay's longtime partner, in life and art), Ulay is one of very few conceptual artists to regularly appear in introductory art history texts--his work is fundamental enough that his name appears in indexes alongside Michelangelo and Picasso. Ulay has often been written about or quoted in interviews, but has never written a book himself. This will be his first, and almost certainly his only book.
