March 2020: A columnist watches as London locks down, facing a conundrum as the weekly deadline for his newspaper's diary approaches. With the city shutting up shop and column inches to fill, journalist Dan Carrier takes to the deserted streets of Central London to uncover the forgotten stories the heart of the UK capital holds. As Dan walks the streets, he explores the triumphs and tragedies every road with a past has borne witness to. Central London's Forgotten Stories celebrates the depth and richness of a key part of the capital, revealing unexpected delights, historical fables, strange adventures and lots of skuldggery. AUTHOR Dan Carrier is an experienced journalist who writes for London newspapers each week. He also writes for the Guardian and Observer, and freelances for other publications. He was awarded the Society of Editors reporter of the year in 2015 and the Society of Editors Award for Outstanding Contribution to UK Journalism in 2020. He has a Honours Degree (First) in History and Politics. He appears on a variety of radio stations and at events both literary and music-led. He runs the Dig It Sound System, and hosts a weekly radio show on Boogaloo Radio. 50 b/w illustrations
