He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales.

The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him.

Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm (1785-1863) collected and published Germanic and European folk and fairy tales during the early to mid 19th century.

Hans Christian Andersen
