Jane Godwin

Jane Godwin is the author of many award-winning stories for young people, including her bestselling picture books with Anna Walker, What Do You Wish For?, Starting School, Today We Have No Plans, All Through the Year and Little Cat and the Big Red Bus.

Jane has also collaborated with Andrew Joyner on the delightful picture books How Big Is Too Small? and Bear Make Den, with Freya Blackwood on Hattie Helps Out, and with Freya and Davina Bell on Birthday Baby.

Rachel Flynn

Rachel Flynn taught in primary schools in Melbourne before having two children. Since then she has written many books for children, studied for two degrees and currently teaches writing at TAFE and university level. She is best known for her hugely successful I Hate Fridays series and picture books like My Mummy and Me, My Daddy and Me and their companion books (illustrated by Craig Smith).

Many of her books are listed on the various State Premiers’ Reading Challenge booklists, and she has featured in numerous ‘children’s choice’ awards. Rachel's picture books and junior fiction stories have been illustrated by some of Australia’s finest illustrators.

Jocelyn Bell

Jocelyn Bell has a Diploma of Art/Illustration from RMIT and has illustrated numerous books for Oxford University Press, Longman-Cheshire and Macmillan.

She has illustrated the popular Aussie Nibble Scruffy's Day Out (Rachel Flynn), which was a CBCA Notable Book in 2002, and Lorraine Marwood's earlier Nibble The Girl Who Turned into Treacle.

David Mackintosh

David Mackintosh is an acclaimed graphic designer and illustrator who has worked with some of the biggest names in children's publishing.

An Australian now living in London, his picture book What's Up, MuMu? was published with HarperCollins in 2015.

Ann James

Over 35 years, Ann James has collaborated with many authors, illustrating picture books that almost always feature animals! In fact, her own pets are characters in The Midnight Gang; Dog In, Cat Out; The Way I Love You and Chester and Gil.

Ann's playful approach to illustrating is evident in her choice of media and techniques. Some of her memorable picture-book characters are in Lucy Goosey; I'm a Dirty Dinosaur; I'm a Hungry Dinosaur; Bird and Bear and Bird and Bear and the Special Day.

She looks forward to readers getting to know Samantha and Sebastian in A Very Quacky Christmas! Ann lives in Melbourne, where she and her partner run Books Illustrated, a gallery specialising in promoting picture books and their creators.

Judy Watson

Judy Watson, who is graphic designer and the illustrator of more than 20 children's books including Frances Watt's Goodnight Mice, winner of the Prime Minister's Literary Award (Children's Fiction) in 2012, and Katrina Germein's Thunderstorm Dancing, a CBCA Notable Book for 2016
