Morgan Smith has to endure a soul-destroying bout of torture whilst held captive deep underground, and yet Carron does not materialize to help him. His body and mind are battered beyond belief, and he is left as a blinded and deaf wreck where he screams for death to come and claim him, and yet Carron is still absent from his life.
