"Dracula" is a novel written by Irish author Bram Stoker and published in 1897. It tells the story of Count Dracula, a centuries-old vampire who moves from Transylvania to England in order to spread the undead curse.The novel is written in the form of a series of diary entries, letters, and other documents, and features multiple narrators. The main protagonists are Jonathan Harker, a young lawyer who travels to Transylvania to help Dracula purchase an estate in England; Mina Harker, Jonathan's fiancée and a friend of Lucy Westenra, who is one of Dracula's victims; and Professor Abraham Van Helsing, a Dutch expert in vampire lore who helps the group fight against Dracula.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, on November 8, 1847, Bram Stoker published his first literary work, The Duties of Clerks of Petty Sessions in Ireland, a handbook in legal administration, in 1879.

Turning to fiction later in life, Stoker published his masterpiece, Dracula, in 1897. Deemed a classic horror novel not long after its release, Dracula has continued to garner acclaim for more than a century, inspiring the creation of hundreds of film, theatrical and literary adaptations.

In addition to Dracula, Stoker published more than a dozen novels before his death in 1912.
