From Australia’s favourite comedian and children’s author Peter Helliar comes the second book in his best-selling Frankie Fish series! A hilarious time-travel adventure about mega-mischief, misbehaving grandparents, and one very naughty dog…

Pranksters Frankie Fish and Drew Bird have got hold of Grandad’s time machine, but it’s no laughing matter. Grandad and Nanna have disappeared to 17th century China, and it’s up to Frankie and Drew to save them!

With the help of a mysterious new friend, the boys must overcome armed guards, giant dragons and one GIANT wall to get to the Emperor’s secret prison. But even if they can get inside, how will they break Grandad and Nanna out – and get them home again?

‘Frankie Fish & the Sonic Suitcase is full of the kind of kind-hearted hilarity that has made its author an Australian legend. A smart, funny, cheeky, time-bending adventure.’ –Tim Minchin, creator of Matilda: The Musical.

**'Frankie Fish and the Sonic Suitcase was full of laughs from the get-go, with delights sprinkled through for the adults too. The boys loved Frankie Fish right from the beginning and so did I!' –**Holly Bidwell, reviewer

'Our younger kids' bookclub group read Frankie Fish and the Sonic Suitcase and thoroughly enjoyed it. All participants rated it 9.75 or above out of 10 [and] recommend it "for anyone who can read!"' –Book Bazaar

'Like a fun mini-episode of Doctor Who if the grumpy old man was the companion instead of the Time Lord, and the young kid unwillingly dragged along in the adventure was the smart one!' –Dani Solomon, Readings.com.au

Peter Helliar

Peter Helliar is the best-selling author of the Frankie Fish series for children, as well as one of Australia's favourite comedians. He lives in Melbourne with his wife and three kids, and currently co-hosts the award-winning news and current affairs program The Project on Network Ten. He plans on being the first human to travel back in time.

Since first appearing on Rove Live in the late 90s, Helliar’s extraordinary entertainment and comedy career has spanned everything from radio to screenwriting, producing and co-starring in feature films (I Love You Too) and television series (It’s a Date), as well as creating a beloved AFL sensation in his alter-ego Bryan ‘Strauchanie’ Strauchan. Helliar’s most recent comedy tour, One Hot Mess, sold out shows in Australia and New Zealand. His new family comedy show, Better Books, is on tour now.

Lesley Vamos

Having grown up in Australia, Vamos studied at the college of Fine Arts, receiving a Distinction and Animation Honor in a Bachelor of Digital media.

Since learning how to hold a pencil (albeit incorrectly) the only time she puts it down is when she has to eat and even then her food can be the victim of artistic subjection (camp mates will forever remember the time she attempted to carve the statue of David out of her mashed potatoes).

Since graduating COFA Vamos has spent her time traveling, doodling, meeting friends with the same enthusiasm for creative expression and communication as well as getting to know and experience as many facets of the creative industry she can.
