Franklin Hill is an easy town to love, especially after time spent in the big city, and particularly when Grace Phillips hasn't lived there for more than 15 years. But Grace is going back to the charm and eccentricities of the small Missouri town where she was raised. She's returning to the comfort of Granny Stillwell's warm kitchen, but under the eye of the watchful gossips of Franklin Hill. Overworked School Superintendent Homer Emerson is desperate for her help, along with his watchdog secretary, Bernadine Turner. While debating her decision to stay or go, she acquires a dilapidated but charming house that comes with two guardian angels bearing power tools and good advice who always seem to know when she needs them. Add one crotchety banker, a feisty four year old, daily small talk at the Bread House Café and the fond attention of a local veterinarian. Small miracles and gentle humor give the reader a treasured escape to Franklin Hill.

This is an excellent book if you are interesting in reading a fiction that is still very realistic and close to home. I could definitely relate to Grace as I too have had a move recently that involved taking me out of a big city and into a more rural setting. It is a great way to find yourself and also face certain demons. The angels and other characters in Franklin Hill remind me of the cast of characters that I have met in my own life to help me face the daily grind with daily rituals that help me make it through. Enjoy this book, it is short and sweet, but definitely packs a punch!
Great to read on the beach or while relaxing. A charmer! Can't wait for the next in the series! Great or all ages.
The world of a small town in the middle of the US. It would be fab to believe a place like this really does exist with all the warmth and love of family. Everything is perfect in Franklin Hill or thereabouts. Everyday life is examined and I found a deep affection for the people of this tiny town captured so well here. This also made me laugh over the antics of the village neighbors. The stories of a town and people living their lives.
This is a pure and sweet book that you or your mother might read but enjoy it anyway. This would also make a lovely gift to anyone.
