This work is based on Lionel Giles’ 1910 translation of Sun Tzu’s Art of War which dates from the 5th century BC. The text is composed of 13 chapters, each of which revolves around one aspect of warfare. It is commonly thought as a writing masterpiece in the domain of military tactics and strategy. It is a prized text, and placed as one of the ‘Seven Military Classics’ by Emperor Shenzong long ago, and has since become the most influential book of strategy in all of East Asia. This notoriety has caused it to have a large influence on both Eastern and Western military thinking and business tactics.
