The author holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing and has taught at both the elementary and university level. This is her first middle-grade novel. According to the legend, once every hunded years Poseidon, king of the ocean, walks as a stranger among the people to see how they care for and share the gifts his ocean gives them.
