This is a story which was originally told by me, to my children, some fifty years ago. It was slightly briefer in those days but it would usually last until my children had gone to sleep. They genuinely loved hearing this simple story and night by night when I asked them what story they would like they would say "The old man who lived up a chimney".

It is one of those feel good stories, and I am sure that your children will love it just as much as mine did.
