Morrie, who gave up most of his youth raising his younger siblings, now lives in the family home with his wife, Betty. He's a college professor desperately seeking tenure, but must earn it from a seemingly "perfect" fellow professor who happens to live next door. After Morrie's unstable brother, Jay, suffers a near death experience, both he and his equally unstable sister return to live with Morrie and Betty. As the conditions around his work and home life heat up, Morrie learns that living in denial has a way of catching up with you.
