"Endeavour" follows the newly forged relationship--both working and personal--between young DC Endeavour Morse and his senior partner, DI Fred Thursday. Returning actors include Shaun Evans as Endeavour and Roger Allam as Thursday, while Sean Rigby takes on the role of a young PC Strange--the character who appeared in the original "Morse" series, played by James Grout. Abigail Thaw, the daughter of the first Inspector Morse, John Thaw, makes further guest appearances as Dorothea Frazil.

SERIES 1: Police Constable Endeavour Morse (Shaun Evans) is newly appointed as 'bagman' to boss and mentor Detective Inspector Fred Friday (Roger Allam), Endeavour must navigate a minefield of police politics to solve five compelling new cases amongst the dreaming spires of 1960's Oxford. Dark family secrets, a terrifying battle of wits against a diabolical serial killer, a Royal visit to a local munitions factory and the shadow of London's gangland over Oxford. All will threaten to test Endeavour's deductive skills to breaking point.

SERIES 2: His partnership with DI Fred Thursday now firmly cemented, the two men must band together to crack this fresh quartet of dazzlingly complex cases, shaking the pillars of Oxford society from top to bottom. A parade soured by a suspected suicide, a girls' school haunted by memories past, a strangler stalking the foggy autumn twilight and conspiratorial whisperings in the corridors of power. Endeavour must risk all if he is to bring those responsible to justice and escape with brain and body intact.

SERIES 3: Last seen languishing in a prison cell and framed for a crime he didn't commit, Endeavour is impelled to return to duty when a young woman's baffling murder requires his singularly cerebral mind to solve.

As both men struggle to find their bearings amidst the rapidly changing climate of early 1967, these four new cases set against the dreaming spires of Oxford test their partnership in unexpected ways, as Morse is pushed to new extremes in his unrivalled commitment to truth and justice.

SERIES 4: Following the dramatic finale of series three, we find Oxford's finest picking up the pieces of their personal and professional lives. DC Endeavour Morse awaits the result of his Sergeant's exam, while DI Fred Thursday and his wife Win struggle to cope with their children flying the nest; Sam gone to the Army and the traumatised Joan...who knows where? But there are even greater challenges to face. The Summer of Love is on the turn and the Oxford City Police finds itself caught on the frontier of the future; computers, pop music, the National Health, nuclear power, the struggle between old and new played out on the battle ground of Oxford. For every force for progress there is a malign counterforce and Endeavour, Thursday and colleagues are plunged into the most perilous, baffling and terrifying cases to date.

SERIES 5: As 1968 dawns, a year of change promises to challenge the private and professional lives of Endeavour and his colleagues. Endeavour's recent promotion leads him to reluctantly mentor new recruit Fancy, while Thursday is beginning to think about life after the police. But in Oxford, crime never sleeps and the team continue to be tested by mysterious and intriguing cases of murder, greed and deception. Meanwhile, the rise of organised crime in the city promises to change Oxford forever. When 1968 comes to a close, will things at Cowley Police Station ever be the same again?

SERIES 6: Following the dissolution of Oxford City Police and the merging with Thames Valley Constabulary at the end of the last series, the latest installment is set in 1969 and picks up with the team as they find their feet in their various new roles. Endeavour has reluctantly settled into a sedate way of life in an isolated countryside outpost, while an uncomfortable Thursday also has a new position at the forbidding Castle Gate station, joining former adversary DCI Ronnie Box (Simon Harrison) and his new sidekick DS Alan Jago (Richard Riddell).

Meanwhile, Strange has taken a management role with Division and Bright has been relegated to the Traffic department. Joan has also settled back in Oxford and is training to work in social services under the guidance of new manager Viv Wall (Alison Newman). The Summer of Love is well and truly over and 1969 promises to be darker and more challenging than ever. However, despite their separation, the tragic murder of DC George Fancy still hangs over them, with the case remaining unresolved.
