LONESOME DOVE: Retired Texas Rangers Gus McCrae (Robert Duvall) and Woodrow Call (Tommy Lee Jones) are content to live out their remaining years in the tiny, late 19th Century Texan town of Lonesome Dove. The good-old-life quickly dissipates when the pair's old friend Jake Spoon comes to town and tells them about the incredible opportunities for cattle ranching in Montana. Encouraged by this, Call convinces Gus and many other townspeople to go on the perilous cattle drive. Gus has another agenda though: a second chance with his former sweetheart in Nebraska...

RETURN TO LONESOME DOVE: 'Captain' Call has just buried Gus at Lonesome Dove and plans to head back to his ranch. He decides to drive wild Mustangs north with the help of Isom and Gideon. Call leaves the drive for Nebraska and runs into Cherokee Jack and a group of Indians.

STREETS OF LAREDO: Retired Texas Ranger Captain Woodrow Call (James Garner) has become a bounty hunter, hired for one last hunt for a psychopathic 17-year-old killer. Joining him on the hunt is his one-time corporal, Pea Eye Parker (Sam Shepard). Pea Eye's wife Lorena (Sissy Spacek) sets out after her husband to convince him to come home after she learns that the murderous Indian Mox Mox is on the rampage and looking for someone new to burn alive.

At a time when 3 cultures, Anglo, Hispanic and Comanche were in conflict over the same land, Augustus McCrae (David Arquette) and Woodrow Call (Johnny Lee Miller) are young rangers. Ripe for adventure they go on an expedition under the leadership of land pirate and soldier Caleb Cobb.
