This book is about life of one of the most prominent Ukrainian Soviet architects Joseph Yul'evich Karakis, author of many buildings, which later became historical landmarks. The publication contains information about objects such as National Museum of History of Ukraine, "Dynamo" restaurant, hotel Ukraine in Luhansk, and many other public, industrial and residential buildings constructed in of the former USSR. The study is based on the materials of the architect's own archive, libraries and state archives of Ukraine. The book is structured chronologically principle and includes a large number of projects, drawings, plans, pictures Implemented objects, as well as personal documents and photographs from the family archive, much of which is published for the first time.
