Our nation's capital's churning, politically-insurgent punk scene is studied for the first time, by D.C. activist Mark Andersen. D.C. spawned Straight-Edge Hardcore, the ascetic rejection of the world's addictions and dysfunction, as well as Emo-Punk, the tendency to rage with an emotive, howling melodicism.
