Wow! I was not expecting this!

I loved Selene! She’s the type of heroine I can totally get behind. Strong, confident and feisty, she’s also struggling due to an issue with her magic. I was constantly worrying about her each time she cast a spell. I wanted to mother her into reconsidering when she used it. I couldn’t help but try to predict what was going to happen next in the story and each time I was completely wrong. She’s definitely a unique heroine.

Memnon gave me shivers. He was a dark and dangerous presence before he was fully embodied and looking for revenge. Built like a dark god and with immense power, he’s a force to be reckoned with. There was no way Selene could hold her own against him. He really knows how to woo a girl though, despite her determination to keep him away. He kept me on edge as to what his next actions were going to be.

This is layered with so many smaller storylines that pulled me in and kept me engaged. I loved all the mystery, the uncertainty, and the overall feel of impending doom that effortlessly flowed through the story. It’s a longer book but was over way too fast and ended with a cliffhanger, dang it! How did I not know that? Nevertheless, I’m in it for the duration!
