With a name like Dawson Scott, you should be on high alert for obvious romantic ties, I'm sure that if I googled that name I would find a porn star.

This novel was a little bit too slow for me, and the story itself wasn't interesting enough to keep you turning the pages. Day one: lets go to the beach. Day two: lets hang out at the beach again and share forbidden, lustful glances at each other over the sand dunes. Day three: I'm going to stare at you whilst the predictable category 11 storm hits the beach and blows your caftan in such a seductive way that I can't help but kiss you and then walk dramatically into my house next door, whilst you pine for me in my absence.

Ok I might be exaggerating a little bit, but not too much

There are moments of genius in this book, Bernie in particular is a nice touch, but I was a little disappointed that Harriet the Harpie didn't make more of a scene in the book. She could have been an interesting meddling character that foiled the porn star Dawson's plans. If you're going to write her off as evil, at least make it a meaty evil, not just a stuck in the office," oh, you've changed what you're going to write about as your story? great! you've always been an independent writer and thats what I hate about you" acquiescence that just too conveniently writes her out of the book.

It juiced up a bit in the last quarter of the book, but there was a certain level of predictability in the end scenes, which I guess is to be expected, there's only so many dramatic conclusions to a thriller, and it went a little way in redeeming the Porn Star gone rogue part that I didn't particularly enjoy. Your hero isn't meant to be a complete scumbag.

It was ok, I think I have read some of Sandra's books before and mentioned some of the same types of issues, so she might be an author that just doesn't do it for me.
