Powerful and moving, this is the truly unforgettable story of one woman's remarkable and life-changing association with the Presidential Elephants of Zimbabwe, a celebrated clan of wild, free-roaming giants. It comes at a time when elephants all around Africa face the very real threat of being poached to extinction for their ivory.

This is a really important book about the reality of wildlife conservation. It is confronting, honest, and moving. I would highly recommend reading it.

It's difficult for me to express how much I loved this book but I felt an urgent need to review it after reading. It is such a different story to what you might expect. There is so much to dislike about the environment the author, Sharon Pincott, was in, and yet it is such a meaningful, heart-wrenching and beautiful story. I don't have any affinity with elephants, or at least I didn't, but I was after an inspirational read. This certainly filled that to overflowing. Tears will flow too. Highly, highly recommended.
