In 2014 Noel Jones was presented with the Salvation Army's Order of the Founder for being "a true example of Christlike holy living, and for exemplary service as a local officer, musician, composer and mentor for over 53 years". To date, Noel has composed more than 124 brass band pieces and 20 vocal accompaniments published by The Salvation Army in the UK, US and Australia. His Master's Musician tells Noel's life story, including the spiritual impetus that impelled him to spend a lifetime composing music for his Master, Jesus, while at the same time inspiring countless others in their musical witness.

I commend this account of the life, music and ministry of Noel Jones up to the present time to any reader looking for inspiration and encouragement to use whatever gifts or abilities they have for God's glory.

Internationally-recognised Salvationist music-maker Noel Jones is much more than a competent composer and player of
instruments, significant as that is. He is a warm-hearted, caring, humble Christian gentleman - a worthy recipient of the Order of the Founder. I commend this book as a helpful reminder of what God can accomplish through a life dedicated to him and for his glory.
~ COMMISSIONER JOHN H . CLINCH , Australia

This biography pulsates with authentic Salvationism both as to Noel's music and, above all, his impressive dedication to God in the Army. All who know Noel will find much in these pages to deepen their regard for him whilst any reader never to have met him will wish they could enjoy that privilege.
~ COMMISSIONER DOUGL AS E . DAVIS , Australia

Noel Jones is truly a man of God who has and continues to serve in ministry through writing, musicianship and witness.

Having known Noel for over 40 years, it is an honour to recommend this biography. It captures the essence of Noel and his life of faithful service. He has always used his God-given talents to further the kingdom and the work of The Salvation Army. Congratulations to Lieut-Colonel Southwell for writing this long overdue biography of a Salvation Army icon.
