To mark the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the introduction of general, equal and direct suffrage, a second edition of the CD presented in 1996 has been prepared, with not only an update of the commentary but also of its technical processing. Helmut Rumpler has written a new, wider ranging introduction based on the current state of research. Technically the original masters have been newly cast with a specially tested wax mixture. In comparison to the earlier plastic castings, these castings provide a better signal-noise relation for a careful and improved digital sound. Better voice intelligibility has thereby been striven for, as compared to the first edition.
