Everyone knows about the immaculate conception and the crucifixion. But what happened to Jesus between the manger and the Sermon on the Mount? In this hilarious and bold novel, the acclaimed Christopher Moore shares the greatest story never told: the life of Christ as seen by his boyhood pal, Biff.

Just what was Jesus doing during the many years that have gone unrecorded in the Bible? Biff was there at his side, and now after two thousand years, he shares those good, bad, ugly, and miraculous times. Screamingly funny, audaciously fresh, Lamb rivals the best of Tom Robbins and Carl Hiaasen, and is sure to please this gifted writer's fans and win him legions more.

When it comes to humorous books, this one makes it onto a lot of lists and for the life of me I dont know why. It was not funny, poorly written, and just downright boring. I struggled to even finish it. Please note that my struggle ultimately led to failure but at over 200 pages of abject drivel, I think I put in a Herculean effort to make it to the halfway line.

I think the author was trying to get some cheap laughs from being offensive with sexual content, risqu quips, and slapstick humour but none of it worked because it just wasnt funny. And yet, I can imagine Mr Moore giggling to himself as he writes about the hijinks that Biff and Joshua (aka Jesus) get up to which makes me question his credibility as a comedic writer and less likely to pick up another one of his books.

Read this book: Just to see how bad it is, then gift it to someone you dont like.
