Finally, an off the shelf Maths intervention for students with difficulties which is research based and has a number sense foundation. We know if we spend time developing number sense and not algorithms students make better progress in the long term. This program has been built based on current research and best practice in the teaching of Mathematics to students with learning difficulties. Mathtastic builds the 8 areas of number sense in a spiraling program starting with numbers 1-10 and building up to numbers into the 100's. The program has been written to meet the demand for an evidence based, 1:1 or small group Maths intervention for Primary aged students. The use of concrete materials and games are fundamental to the program to ensure deep learning.
