Glenda Millard is the author of many acclaimed novels and picture books, and Stephen Michael King has illustrated, written and designed many wonderful books for children.

This book grew from a poem Glenda wrote when Stephen and Glenda were preparing their contribution to the Hush Treasure Book for the Hush Foundation.

They developed the words and pictures for this story together when Stephen was doing a residency at Manning Regional Art Gallery.

Glenda Millard is one of my absolute favourite childrens authors. If you havent read The Naming of Tishkin Silk then you must share some special time with your child. Aimed 6 and 13 year olds, this is for a sensitive child. There is no magical realism or fantasy here just a beautiful story about the Silk family and the most beautiful characters. Its also illustrated by Stephen Michael King who brings the story and characters completely to life. This is sadly the last in the series and has been nominated for another Childrens Book Council award.
