Morris Gleitzman

Morris Gleitzman grew up in England and came to Australia when he was sixteen.

After university he worked for ten years as a screenwriter. Then he had a wonderful experience.

He wrote a novel for young people. Now, after 36 books, he's one of Australia's most popular children's authors.

In February 2018 Morris was chosen as the Australian Children’s Laureate for 2018-19.

I want to be an ambassador for the fears and hopes and dreams and dreads that young people have as they contemplate and navigate today’s world, and also as they think about the possibilities of their future adult worlds,’ Gleitzman said.

‘Much of my time will be spent championing stories as a medium for young people to engage creatively with those possibilities. Stories reveal themselves in our imaginations, our intellects and our emotions—all places where we work on our own destinies.’

Purchased these books for my son and read them myself. This is a good book but it gives away far too much of what happens in later books which detracts from the suspense of what will happen to key characters. Wish I had read this one last in the series. Despite the author's assurances otherwise, I recommend reading in this order: Once, Then, After, Soon, Maybe, Now [note that I have not yet read Always]

Now is a little different to the other two books ONCE & THEN. Although it has the same characters, it is set in a different time, so you dont have to read the other two books to understand this one. I really enjoyed this novel very much and would recommend it to readeres 11 yrs+. Thanks and I hope I have helped! :))
