Overturned takes an extremely controversial issue and wraps it in fiction allowing characters to voice their opinions within the safety and confines of the writers imagination. The novel attempts to answer the question, "What if" and finds that we should be very careful what "we ask for" as we may actually get it.Overturned is a political thriller that combines the business of politics, social reform and conspiracy into a story that brings us full circle on the issue of reproductive rights and those we love.This book was written in 2003 after the makeup of the Supreme Court changed during the Bush presidency. Never did I imagine that what was written nearly 20 years ago would actually come true. Today, in 2022, we are facing a return to the stories in this book. Make no mistake, while this is a work of fiction, every story was based on a composite of true stories that really happened. Making abortion illegal does not stop abortion, it only makes it more dangerous costing us even more lives in the process.
