Pippa Goodhart

Pippa Goodhart's interest in children's books was originally sparked by a Saturday job at Heffers in Cambridge when she was at school. Since then, Pippa qualified as a teacher and returned to Heffers, where she eventually became Manager of the Children's Bookshop. She has been writing since 1993 and has written over 100 books! Her books have won or been shortlisted for numerous awards.

Michael Foreman

Michael Foreman (born 21 March 1938) is one of the UK's best-known and most prolific creators of children's books. He won the 1982 and 1989 Kate Greenaway Medals for British children's book illustration and he was a commended runner-up five times.

For his contribution as a children's illustrator, he was the UK nominee in 1988 and again in 2010 for the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the highest recognition available to creators of children's books internationally. Michael was awarded the OBE in the 2022 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to literature.

Michael Morpurgo

Michael Morpurgo has an unparalleled reputation as a children's storyteller. He was Children's Laureate from 2003 to 2005, has written over 100 books and is the winner of many awards, including the Whitbread Children's Book Award, the Smarties Book Prize, the Blue Peter Award and the Red House Children's Book Award.

His books are translated and read around the world and his hugely popular novel War Horse is now both a critically acclaimed stage play and a highly successful film. Michael and his wife, Clare, live in Devon.

Joanna Nadin

Joanna Nadin is a winner of the Fantastic Book Award, the Surrey Book Award, Blue Peter 'Book of the Month' and Radio 4 Open Book 'Book of the Year'.

She has been shortlisted for the Booktrust Best Book Award and Queen of Teen, and Spies, Dad, Big Lauren and Me was selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club.

In 2011, Penny Dreadful is a Magnet for Disaster was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. Joe All Alone was nominated for the 2016 CILIP Carnegie Medal.

She writes the Flying Fergus series with Sir Chris Hoy. Joanna previously worked as a policy writer for the Labour Party and a special adviser to the Prime Minister.

She continues to freelance as a speechwriter and editor, and lectures in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University.

Bee Willey

Bee Wiley was born in London, spent her childhood in France and now lives in Ipswich, Suffolk. She has illustrated many fiction covers and picture books for children including the acclaimed Edward Lear's Nonsense Rhymes, The Wooden Dragon by Joan Aitken and How to be a Princess by Caitlin Matthews.

She was shortlisted for the prestigious Kate Greenaway Award for her stunning illustrations for Bob Robber and Dancing Jane by Andrew Matthews. Bee draws, paints, and uses mixed media and collage in her multi-layered paintings.

Ian Beck

Ian Beck is well known as an illustrator as well as more recently a writer of young fiction with the publication of the very succesful Tom Trueheart titles by OUP.

This is his first foray in to the world of teen fiction. Ian lives in West London. He began his career as an illustrator working on album covers including the still in-print classic cover for Elton John's album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
