Katharine Kerr

Leaving snowy Ohio for California, Katharine Kerr studied at Stanford University for a spell before dropping out to join some of the many social movements sweeping San Francisco in the 60s. She first became involved in the field of fantasy through role-playing games, writing articles for gaming magazines and authoring early quests for Dungeons and Dragons - all of which soon led her to fantasy writing, with her first Deverry novel, Daggerspell, appearing in 1986. Since then, her Deverry series has hit The Times and the Australian bestseller lists, garnering fans from around the world.

This book was recommended to me by my mother when i was around 7. She had been reading Katherine Kerr from when she was younger..and wanted to pass on the magic to me.

She read this book to me chapter by chapter. When i was 18 (I'm now 26) I picked this book up to read again by myself, and the magic continued. I have now read every book by Katherine Kerr.

Katherine Kerr is a highly complex author. This book delves to the world of fantasy, and past lives. I have never read such a complex book. It follows Jill, Nevyn and handsome lord Rhodry Maelwaedd. Not only does she create a complex story about the 3 main characters, but every few chapters delves into a massive chapter about their past lives, what happened, and how it fits into their current live and the tanglements. Luckily, Katherine provides a map of their past lives and who is who so you can follow it if you start to struggle. The deeper you go into this book, the more characters and their past lives come into it. This book follows everything happening for a reason, and trying to right wrongs. It is incredible.

Katherine Kerr isn't the most famous author, and I believe, highly under rated. Most people who i have recommended this book to, haven't heard of her. Read this book - it will change the way you feel about past lives, and everything happens for a reason.
