Jakkin steals and trains a young dragon to earn the money to buy his freedom. In Heart's Blood (1984), Jakkin oversees the hatching of his beloved Dragon's first clutch, is drawn into a terrorist plot, and is forced to flee with Akki, the daughter of his former master. In A Sending of Dragons (1987, 1989), Jakkin and Akki enter a subterranean labyrinth populated by a primitive race who practice sacrificial rituals. Recommended.
