Is fate pulling them apart?Toklo, Kallik, Lusa, and Yakone trek onward, battling the elements as they approach Kallik's former home. Kallik is anxious to reunite with her brother, Taqqiq, but Toklo and Lusa can't imagine continuing their journey without her. When they finally reach the Melting Sea, the foursome discovers that Taqqiq has joined a vicious group of bears who are terrorizing others for food and land. Now Kallik must choose between returning home or remaining with the companions who have become her true family.
