Responding to the ardent pleas of millions of fans, Stephen King has returned to his beloved "Dark Tower series--an epic started more than thirty years ago with the book "The Gunslinger. Now, the fifth installment, "Wolves of the Calla, continues the adventures of Roland, the last gunslinger and survivor of a civilized world that can only be reached through unseen doors that connect Roland's lost world to ours. Roland has an inevitable destiny; he is obsessed by his pursuit of the man who killed his mother and by his need to reach and perhaps save the Dark Tower, which stands at the center of everywhere and everywhen. Roland's destiny takes him to Calla, a town in the mid-world that lies in the shadow of Thunderclap, beyond which lies the Dark Tower. Before moving on, however, Roland--meeting both friend and foe along the way-must face the evil wolves of Thunderclap, who threaten to destroy Calla.
