Terry Goodkind

Terry Goodkind was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where he also attended art school, one of his many interests on the way to becoming a writer.

Besides a career in wildlife art, he has been a cabinet maker, violin maker, and he has done restoration work on rare and exotic artifacts from around the world - each with its own story to tell, he says.

In 1983 Goodkind moved to the forested mountains he loves. There, in the woods near the ocean, he built the house where he and his wife, Jeri, live, and came at last to tell his own stories. He died in September 2020 at the age of 72.

Richard Cypher has begun his destiny by becoming The Seeker after a chance meeting with a girl he now knows to be Kahlan Amnell and his eccentric neighbour Zed who also turns out to be Richards grandfather Zeddicus Zul Zorander a wizard of the first order. Richards father the man he thought was his father has been murdered and Richard has taken up the mantle of Seeker. Kahlan is a mother confessor with powers over peoples minds they cannot lie to her if she confesses them they become devoted to her. This episode finds them on a quest to find the Stone of tears along the way Richard must find it within himself to accept magic which he loaths and become one with his sword. Richard becomes ill with the magic and only an ancient order the sisites of the light can help but they are experiencing there own crisis as some sisiters have turned to the keeper of the underworld becoming sisters of the dark there mission is to kill Richard especially and Kahlan if they can as the prophecies told hail Richard as the saviour making him a marked man by both the keeper and Darken Rahl.
