A contemporary ghost story about an inventor in need of a miracle and the true cost of being owned by our possessions.

Benedict is an inventor whose life's work is a clean energy design, the sale of which has just made him an overnight sensation, pulled his semi-functional family of four out of crippling debt, and made them extremely wealthy. There are only two problems: 1) the design doesn't work, and 2) Benedict can't concentrate on how to make it work because his house is haunted. Ever since the family experienced a break-in, which the intruder may or may not have survived, each member has had some run-in with the spectre. The ghost makes it ever clearer that it wants something from them and won't rest until they deliver. Meanwhile, time ticks ever closer to the revelation of Benedict's fraud, as he spirals further into despair. And there are no miracles for Benedict; only truth and science and possibly his family's forgiveness.
