This is one of my all time favourite series.

Jean Auel has created brilliant characters and develops them through out the book and the series.

The main character Ayla is such a strong female. Some of the things that happen to Ayla are heartbreaking, but she continues on, she adapts.

The Neanderthals are very well written, though they do not speak, they have their own developments as well.

These developments continue throughout the series.

I highly recommend this series to everyone. It doesn't matter what genre you normally read, this series is amazing.

This is a must read for all Auel fans. You won't be disappointed. I've only been moved to review one other novel this year. I loved them both.

I was so excited when I learnt this novel was to be released. Auel deserves all the hype that goes to JK Rowlings. A test of a good writer is the ability to sustain the quality of the writing across a series and the richness and reality of the world in the story. Auel does this in the latest novel. My only disappointment was that the novel ended. Luckily I had another book recommended to me to fall back on. I'm doing a review for it today as well.
