Eighteen-year-old Kricket Hollowell was looking for her place in the world when she discovered that the universe was bigger--and more dangerous--than she had ever dreamed. Now, whisked across space to the planet Ethar, Kricket learns that her genetic ability to see the future makes her a sought-after commodity...and the catalyst for war between her star-crossed parents' clans. According to Alameedan prophecy, one house will rise to power and the other will be completely wiped out, and Kricket's precognition is believed to be the weapon that will tip the scales.

A target of both the Rafe and the Alameeda houses, Kricket finds protection--and a home--in the arms of Trey, her Etharian bodyguard-turned-boyfriend. But her visions of what's to come disturb her deeply, especially since she must discover whether the gift of foresight will allow her to rewrite the future, or if her fate is as immovable as the stars.

The highly anticipated sequel to Under Different Stars, winner of four 2014 utopYA Awards.

Loved, loved, loved it!

The world building in this series is incredible and the characters are well developed, each with hidden layers and dark pasts. I felt that I was in their world with them.

Ms Bartol is an amazing writer – her creative and descriptive writing painted an image in my head of the scenes and the characters. It is fast paced and action packed. I was enthralled throughout and could not put it down. Who needs sleep when I am immersed in Kricket’s wild ride?

Kricket is no damsel in distress – she outsmarts the enemy more than once and uses her special gift to get out of sticky situations. I love that the story is not just about the romance between her and Trey, though I thoroughly enjoyed watching their relationship flourish and grow. It is so beautifully written and touching. But there are so many layers to the characters – the inter-relationships between Trey and his team and his family, as well as the mystery of Kricket’s past and her family. Not to mention all the action and suspense!

I loved that I got to see more of Trey’s personal side in this book. The first book was mostly about ‘Soldier’ Trey and I only got a peek of his softer side.

I also liked the new characters that were introduced as they added depth to the plot and I found them intriguing. Without giving too much away, I am interested in seeing what happens with Giffen and Astrid in the next book.

And Kyon, I have a soft spot for him. He is multi-faceted, determined, and clever, and takes the time to get to know Kricket and understand how she thinks. I was secretly rooting for him in this book.

And the ending! It left me dying to jump into the next book. I hope that I don’t have to wait too long. I think I am addicted!
