The popular Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series of books actually began life on BBC radio in 1977. The phenomenally successful seven-installment series, written by Douglas Adams and produced by the BBC, was followed by two more, and this CD brings listeners the third, dramatizing the story covered in Adams's Life, the Universe and Everything. The plot picks up with Arthur Dent escaping from homicidal robots on a time-traveling sofa. Armed only with a rabbit bone, Arthur embarks on an intergalactic journey to save the universe.
