My name's Lick. Most people know me from my book Lick and the Invasion about me and my buddy, Fanger. We caused an alien invasion and had to whoop some alien tail. These here stories I'm fixin' to tell are about a guy we knew. Everybody called him Slurp cause when he talked his mouth filled up with spit and he had to slurp it down pretty regular.

Slurp was one them recluses who don't know how to be around people. He used to come by the junkyard to get parts for the various machines he was building. Him and Fanger got along real good. They liked to talk sciencey a lot. Fanger told me Slurp was durn near consumed with two things. Harnessing the power of lightning and time travel. So consumed that he actually went and did both. Fanger said Slurp figured out that harnessing the power of lightning would run the time machine he built out of an old commercial size septic tank.

I'll do my best to recount Slurp's adventures the best I can. But you ought to know, Slurp tells Fanger stories about his time travelin' and Fanger tells them to me so some of the more sciencey details will be missing. Anyhow, here goes nothing.
