Sandy Mitchells book, Ciaphas Cain: Hero of the Imperium, contains the first three books of the Ciaphas Cain series. It was full of bravery, heroes, sick and twisted villains, monsters, humour and alien planets from all over the galaxy and with this all I found it a most amusing and exiting read. The main character Commissar Ciaphas Cain, is a man who is out for himself and tries to avoid the battles he is sent to, only to end up in the middle of them and trying to get out of it, all while looking as if he was a hero to the people for being in the thick of the battle. Whether you are a fan of sci-fi or not I highly recommend this as a book to be red.
