A mysterious asteroid belt enters Earth's orbital ring, destroying manmade satellites and causing space junk and meteorites to rain out of the sky, annihilating entire cities and wiping out most of the world's population. The apocalyptic event is actually an alien invasion as each meteor contains extraterrestrial life forms capable of transforming small insects into monstrous abominations. Militia and Eco-Marines fight gallantly on the ground to eradicate the giant bugs in hopes of reclaiming the planet, while out in space, a marooned astronaut struggles to stay alive with the help of her robotic companion and may be Earth's only chance for survival.
