The Lost Genie Diaries, totaling three in number, were found by the snow gryphon Telanos in a hidden library that had been burned by the sorcerers' Torch Squads. The diaries miraculously escaped the fire, and were not even sooty when the snow gryphon found them. Each having a different color cover (bronze, silver, and gold), the diaries contained stories chronicling the genies' involvement in various matters of the human world, both large and small. The twelve tales selected from the diaries for this book were Telanos' favorites and include the following: The Dumbwaiter, How Tall the Yew Grew; Buttons, Feathers, Bottles, Etc.; The Puck Fashion Shop, The Jasper Diamond, Eighteen Orclings and Their Deeds, The Waiting Gryphix, Wrengo's Wooden Soldiers, Sickare's First Project, The Bigfoot and the Honey Badger, Netherwind's Treehouse, and The Gargoyle Who Hid the Moon.
