Sleeping is a thing of the past in Resurrection City thanks to a sophisticated process developed during the war. The human brain has to dream, though, so the government creates artificial dreams for each person. A mysterious young woman appears in the dreams of both Ismael and Anna. She begs them to come save her. Ismael and Anna feel drawn to help her and they discover she has appeared in others' dreams. They are determined to find out if she is real or not no matter what.
